YIC is conduct session “Pakistan: Kashmir and Security in South Asia”
The UNA Youth Platform are honoured to host Sir Mark Lyall Grant for a discussion on Pakistan’s role in the South Asian security architecture, taking into account Pakistan’s relationships with India and China as well as the thorny issue of Kashmir.
Sir Mark served as the Prime Minister’s National Security Adviser from 2015 – 2018. As a career diplomat, he served as the UK Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations (2009 to 2015), Director General Political in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), where he was the Principal Adviser to the Foreign Secretary on strategic foreign policy issues (2007 to 2009), and the UK High Commissioner to Pakistan (2003 to 2006).
